Condolence Message by Shri L. K. Advani Member of Parliament
I am extremely saddened on the demise of Shri George Fernandes with whom I had a long association.
We were together in the Government under Shri Morarji Bhai Desai and later under the leadership of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Shri Fernandes was a fearless, forthright and a forceful leader, who started his career as a trade union activist.
He always fought for justice, took up the cause for the poor and was a very effective parliamentarian.
He was a man of principles and believed in utmost simplicity.
In the passing away of Shri George Fernandes, the country has not only lost a fire brand socialist but also a thorough gentleman.
My heartfelt condolences to all member of his family and other admirers.
May his Soul rest in peace.
