Maximum growth, transparency and convenience, minimum trouble: Futuristic decisions announced by FM, Arun Jaitley

BJP welcomes today’s announcements by Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley. This is yet another right step by the Government of India in the quest to move towards increased cashless transactions and to eliminate corruption and black money.

Party President Shri Amit Shah said, “The announcements made today by our Government will go a long way in incentivising digital transactions & cashless economy.Cashless transactions will increase convenience, make sure that the poor get their right & harness technology for a modern India.Government has shown long term vision with a series of concerted strategic steps taken after demonetisation to strangle corruption & black money.”

The Government’s decisions are indeed visionary and futuristic. This will maximize growth andminimize inconvenience. Through these decisions, it will be ensured that the poor, neo middle class and the middle class get their due.

According to the government's key announcements one lakh villages with population of less than ten thousand will be put on a POS or point of sale machine. In order to promote digital payment the micro-ATMs and swipe machine will be placed. NABARD will give rupay card to 04 crores 32 lacs Kisan Credit Card holders. 0.5 per cent discount will be given on the monthly seasonal ticket purchased online. Along with it the purchase of online railway ticket, the accident insurance cover of Rs 10 lakh will be given separately. Five per cent discount will be given in the catering facilities of railway retiring rooms on digital payments made. 10 per cent discount on the digital payment at the toll plaza is a big relief. 0.75 per cent on petrol and diesel will be waived for any payment that is digital. For payment till RS 2000 will be free from service tax, which is big move. On the payment of insurance premium of Public sector insurance companies the discount of eight to ten per cent will be given. PSU and central departments will ensure that transaction fees and MTR do not increase. Public sector banks will ensure that micro ATMs, POS terminals, and mobile POS rent does not exceed Rs 100 limit.
These announcements reflect the sensitivity and government giving priority of the villages and farmers. Party welcomes these important steps.

The Finance Minister’s announcements spell further doom for those who have been used to corrupt practices and usage of black money. This is another nail in the coffin to choke all avenues of corruption.

The people of India have shown tremendous support to the Prime Minister’s clarion call to move towards more cashless transactions. It illustrates the firm resolve of the people to permanently uproot corruption and black money from the system, rising above the malicious propaganda of a handful of loud vested interest groups.
