Salient points of the Press Conference by BJP National President Shri Amit Shah in Manipur, Imphal (UP)

I want to say with confidence that in the 2017 elections, the BJP is going to form a government with a clear cut majority in Manipur, After Assam, it will be the second state of northeast where the BJP government will be formed: Amit Shah ********** Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi came to Manipur two days ago and had made bluntly clear that the Territorial of Manipur will not be encroach on be even by 1 inch, its culture and heritage will be also kept intact, it will be completely respected : Amit Shah ********** BJP clearly believes that till the development of the north eastern states takes place till then the whole country cannot develop. BJP government at the Centre has done lot of work for North East states and for the development of Manipur: Amit Shah *** If by the false advertisement Ibobi Singh government thinks that he will be able to deceive the public of Manipur, I believe that it will not be possible: Amit Shah ********** BJP clearly believes that till the development of the north eastern states takes place, the whole country cannot develop. BJP government at the Centre have done a lot for the development work for the North-Eastern states and for the development of Manipur: Amit Shah ********** Ibobi Singh for 15 years only made promise of development continuously, as the mark of achievement he cannot go to people of Manipur exhibiting any work: Amit Shah ********** Today with the medium of advertisement Ibobi Singh has again promised few things, if it is seen with focus all these promises has already been done by Ibobi Singh in 2012 assembly, two-three schemes are of central government which are already underway: Amit Shah ********** This clearly means that Congress Ibobi Singh government from 2012 to 2017, during the five years did nothing for the development of Manipur: Amit Shah ********** Due to political reasons, the government of Manipur is deliberately not clearing the blockage. I want to say to the people of Manipur that the day Manipur will have BJP government, within 24 hours all the blockage will end: Amit Shah ********** I want to say that if there is a BJP government in Manipur that government will be devoid of corruption and will be a transparent government, that Government will free Manipur from strike, freedom from corruption, freedom from blockage and freedom from underground groups: Amit Shah ********** Despite 15 years if the congress government still people of Manipur cannot get pure drinking water, has to grapple with the problems of unemployment, law and order situation is not good for all of it only Ibobi Singh's Congress government is responsible: Amit Shah ********** More than 100 schemes that during the last 15 years is run in Manipur with central assistance, not even one project has given the work completion certificate or the utilization certificate: Amit Shah ********** If the BJP government is formed in Manipur all cases of corruption will be investigated and drastic actions will be taken, culprits will be punished: Amit Shah **********

BJP National President Shri Amit Shah, addressed press conference at Imphal the capital of Manipur today and launched attack alleging the Ibobi Singh government of congress for the dismal state of Manipur. Before this he addressed two huge rallied and appealed to the people of the Manipur to form the BJP government.

BJP President said that the BJP clearly believes that till the development of the north eastern states takes place till then the whole country cannot develop.. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2014 Lok Sabha Elections made it clear that till the time North Eastern States do not develop we cannot have balanced development for the country. He said that BJP government at the Centre has done lot of work for North East states and for the development of Manipur. He said that, the central government has sanctioned the sports university for the Manipur but government of Manipur, the Ibobi Singh government of Congress has allotted such a land to the university, that the sports university can never be built, as the Manipur government allots the appropriate land work of the University will begin. He said that the central government has given for IIT amount of over Rs 10 crore to the Manipur government of Congress in which he has not been able to spend even one and half crore . He said that in addition, project of The Film & Television Institute and modernization of the airport, as well as approximately 6 road projects worth Rs 22,000 crore have started work for the railway projects in the State is on at faster pace, I believe that in the next two years Indian Railway will be successful in reaching the network to Imphal.

Shri Shah said that, this time in the Manipur Assembly Election Congress Ibobi government has no agenda for development. Ibobi Singh for 15 years only made promise of development continuously, as the mark of achievement he cannot go to people of Manipur exhibiting any work. Launching a strike on Ibobi Singh Shri Shah said that, Today with the medium of advertisement Ibobi Singh has again promised few things, if it is seen with focus all these promises has already been done by Ibobi Singh in 2012 assembly, two-three schemes are of central government which are already underway. Citing some examples of promises of Ibobi Singh he said that, Ibobi Singh one promise was of Drinking water to all household which was also there in 2012 manifesto, and present in the manifesto of 2017 also, the development of sports infrastructure at the grassroots level even this promise was in 2012 manifesto likewise, the development of tourism and special thrust on Empowerment of Women to capacity building promises have been repeated in 2017 manifesto. He said that, this clearly means that Congress Ibobi Singh government from 2012 to 2017, during the five years did nothing for the development of Manipur. He said that there is no answer to issues entailing the development and corruption by Ibobi Singh of congress therefore they are raising the non serious issues in as election plank. He said that, I want to say that if there is a BJP government in Manipur that government will be devoid of corruption and will be a transparent government, that Government will free Manipur from strike, freedom from corruption, freedom from blockage and freedom from underground groups.

BJP president said that, Naga accord has often been clarified by the BJP. He said that, If by the false advertisement Ibobi Singh government thinks that he will be able to deceive the public of Manipur, I believe that it will not be possible.

On the issue of blockage in Manipur Shri Shah took a dig at Ibobi Singh of Congress and said that, Due to political reasons, the government of Manipur is deliberately not clearing the blockage. He said that, law and order is a state subject and central government cannot intervene in this matter. He said that, I want to say to the people of Manipur that the day Manipur will have BJP government, within 24 hours all the blockage will end. He said that, if the BJP government is formed in Manipur all cases of corruption will be investigated and drastic actions will be taken, culprits will be punished. He said that those work that are within the scope of the central government has shown good progress in the work. Even after the PMO, Ministry of North East and Government of India Initiative despite that the Manipur government did not try to remove the blockage, because of this today the people of Manipur are upset. I agree that due to blockage the people of Manipur are facing trouble and they will clarify their decision in this election through voting against Ibobi Singh. He said that, I want to say with confidence that in the 2017 elections, the BJP is going to form a government with a clear cut majority in Manipur, after Assam, it will be Manipur, second state of northeast where the BJP government will be formed.

BJP president said that, BJP believes that after 70 years of independence the Manipur and other north eastern states could not be the development, so much. The north eastern states have to take a plunge in the race for development. He said that the funds that central government sends for development of the north eastern states, the whole of it is lost to corruption. He said that, despite 15 years if the congress government still people of Manipur cannot get pure drinking water, has to grapple with the problems of unemployment, law and order situation is not good for all of it only Ibobi Singh's Congress government is responsible. He said that, Ibobi Singh government should present the account in this election that under the scheme of central government send to Manipur government on account of food security law after 2016 almost 1.5 lakh tonne of food grains were sent, where did it go, so far not reached poor, similar to the scheme under the central government MNERGA, the whole grant is lost to corruption. He said that, More than 100 schemes that during the last 15 years is run in Manipur with central assistance, not even one project has given the work completion certificate or the utilization certificate. He said that Ibobi Singh has done big scams by inaugurated the half complete projects. They have done scams on appointments for jobs. He said that after doing so much corruption the Manipur government of congress thinks that they will be safe then it will not happen. He said that, If the BJP government is formed in Manipur all cases of corruption will be investigated and drastic actions will be taken, culprits will be punished.
