Subject: WEST BENGAL-SIXTH PHASE POLLS – Unprecedent Violence Across All PCs.

 

Sirs,

As we move towards the final phase of polling in West Bengal, Shushri Mamata Banerjee is sensing her imminent defeat. In a fit of extreme desperation she has handed out threats to all calling them to take revenge and win the remaining elections at any cost; even it has to be violence. Thus all the goons and ‘baahubalis’ of TMC have been let loose and licensed to rig elections. TMC has created a reign of fear and terror amongst the senior officials in the police force who have been told that if she loses, it is they i.e. senior police officials who shall be held accountable and suitably punished.

We have already submitted to this Commission evidence of Smt. Mamata Banerjee’s recent contemptuous behavior that is in fervent dereliction of the Model Code of Conduct, the Representation of People Act as well as the Indian Penal Code, where she has not only openly threatened BJP supporters to beware after elections are over, local villagers have been detained in police custody for saying “Jai Shree Ram”, and the filthiest of abuses have been hurled at the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. The video evidences in this regard have been submitted to the Commission vide our representations numbered dated on this BJP/ECC/2019/92 dated 7.5.19, BJP/ECC/2019/105 dated 9.5.19 and BJP/ECC/2019/113 dated 11.5.19.  

 The situation as witnessed today during the sixth phase has been deeply disturbing. We have listed comprehensively list of incidents as on 3:30 PM.

1. Ghatal Lok Sabha Constituency:  In Keshpur Vidhan Sabha Constituency, our candidate Smt. Bharati Ghosh was attacked by TMC women cadre outside booth no. 206 at 7:30 AM. She was badly injured. Our polling agent Sh. Gopal Daloi was stopped from entering the said polling booth. The state police personnel stationed there were mere onlookers. No woman police personnel were called in by the State Police to reign in the miscreants. Video available online at https://youtu.be/NmuG_0bjK-4 is annexed hereto and marked as Annexure 1

Smt. Bharati Ghosh’s car was also seized and she was stopped from moving around in her constituency. This is illegal restrain in every sense. Her vehicle was attacked with stones by TMC goons with stones. The video is annexed hereto and marked Annexure 2.

Jhargram Lok Sabha Constituency: In Gopiballavpur Vidhan Sabha Constituency, it is most unfortunate that our Booth No. 113 president Sh. Ramen Mandal was killed by TMC goons led by Sukumar Beg, Sarajevo Das and others. 2. Kanthi Lok Sabha Constituency: In Chandipur Vidhan Sabha BJP workers Sh. Ananta Gutchait and Sh. Ranjit Maiti were injured by shots fired by TMC goons.

6	Kanthi	Bhagwanpur	Poling agent of BJP booth no 186 under Bhagwanpur L.S. Constituency has been threaten by TMC and the agent bound to left the booth.
7	Kanthi	Bhagwanpur	Booth no. 175, 176, 55 and 56 under Bhagwanpur L.S. Constituency has been fully capture by the TMC.
8	Kanthi	Khejuri	General voters are threaten by TMC hooligans at booth no 179 under Khejuri L.S. Constituency in presents of force. One Shamal Bar is seriously injured by the TMC hooligans.
8	Kanthi	Bhagwanpur	Booth no. 248 and 252 under Bhagwanpur L.C. Constituency has been fully capture by the TMC.
9	Kanthi	Uttar Kanthi	Booth no 24 under Uttar Kanthi L.C. Constituency has been captured by the TMC.
10	Kanthi	Bhagwanpur	Name of symbol are covered by cello tap/ black tap by the TMC in Booth no 196 and 197 under Bhagwanpur L.C. Constituency.
11	Kanthi	Bhagwanpur	Booth no. 197, 207 and 209 under Bhagwanpur L.A. Constituency has been fully captured by the TMC.
12	Kanthi	Khejuri	In present of force booth no. 241 under Khejuri L.A. Constituency has been fully capture by the TMC.
13	Kanthi	Bhagwanpur	And booth no 236 and 96 under Bhagwanpur L.A. Constituency are totally captured by the TMC.
14	Kanthi	Khejuri	BJP Poling agent of booth no 251 under Khejuri L.A. Constituency has been threaten by TMC and the agent of our party bound to left the booth.
15	Kanthi	Bhagwanpur	Voters slip are snatched by state police (Kolkata police) at booth no 55 and 56 under Bhagwanpur L.A. Constituency and general voter are restrain to vote as per their choice by the state police and TMC.
16	Kanthi	Bhagwanpur	booth no. 101 and 244 under Bhagwanpur L.A. Constituency has been fully capture by the TMC.
17	Kanthi	Dakhin Kanthi	Booth no 211 under Dakhin Kanthi L.A. Constituency are totally captured by the TMC.
18	Kanthi	Bhagwanpur	Booth no. 56, 57 and 58 under Bhagwanpur L.A. Constituency has been fully capture by the TMC. TMC hooligans are effective bombing on that three booths.
19	Bishnupur (S.C)	Indus	Polling station no. 234, 235, 236, 237, 238, 249, 250, 191, 192, 201, 83, 84, 67, 247, 248, 85, 86, 68 where state police interrupt BJP booth agents and not allowed to entered into polling station and TMC miscreants looted all the voters

 

We had requested the Election Commission on 30.1.2019 and reiterated in several meetings held that i) the anti social goons must be rounded up and sent out of the constituency concerned to ensure voting without fear and intimidation; and to ensure every polling station is equipped with CCTV coverage to ensure the polling remains free and fair.

Given the unprecedented state of violence we request the Election Commission to seriously review all these cases through its network of General Observers and Police Observers, and not through the Returning Officers since they are themselves complicit in rigging the polls.

The Election Commission must order repolling in the aforementioned constituencies wherever suspicious activities have been seen and where violence has been reported from. Specifically repolling in the entire Keshpur Vidhan Sabha constituency is being sought.
