Press Statement issued by

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Farmers of Karnataka too repose their trust and support in Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and BJP, despite all the Oppositions falsehoods, hypocrisy and U-turns against Farm bills.

The people of Karnataka across Villages, Towns and Cities continue their rejection of Politics of Lies and Violence and trust Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s message of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.

The last 12 months have seen two challenges that people of India have to face – one the CoronaVirus from China and the other the oppositions politics and continued strategy of destabilization through a campaign of calumny, lies and hypocrisy – which started way before 2019 elections and failed ,  yet continues today.

The opposition strategy is to use an ounce of truth mixed with plenty of lies and falsehoods to try and mislead/incite different groups of citizens. In 2020, they did that with 370, CAA and now with Farmers welfare bills and reforms.

But how the people of Karnataka have responded is a good insight into how people of India continue to reject this type of politics and solidly trust the Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas development and governance commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and BJP.

In May 2019 – the voters decisively voted for Prime Minister Narendra Modiji and BJP – with a historic 51.38% vote share and 25/28 Lok Sabha seats. The Congress was reduced to 1 and its partner JD(S) to 1. Please remember these results were in the backdrop of various wild allegations flung against Narendra Modis govt and BJP then.

Fast forward to today – in the local Gram Panchayat elections, voters have given a decisive mandate to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and BJP. These elections were conducted in the backdrop of a campaign of falsehoods to mislead farmers against Farm bills. But Karnataka and its farmers voted and signalled their trust in Narendra Modi Jis unrelenting efforts for last several years to improve Farmers welfare and with these bills that free them from the clutches of middlemen and pave the way to a more prosperous future for our Farmers.

The results of these Elections are clear – 55.4% of GPs elected are BJP supported and 53% of all members BJP supported- The farmers of Karnataka have spoken decisively – Their trust is in BJP and leadership of PM Narendra Modi and our CM BS Yeddyyurappa

It is interesting to also point out that in the last 12 months every election held in Karnataka, the people have overwhelmingly supported BJP. These elections were held in Urban, Semi Urban and Rural constituencies – of the 17 MLA by-elections held, People of Karnataka have voted 14 BJP legislators and Cong only 2. Of the 4 MLC elections, BJP has won all 4. In Corporation elections too BJP has grown.

Many of these elections were held also amidst  similar campaigns of lies and violence incited by the opposition – CAA/NRC campaign to mislead minorities, Mangaluru Violence, Bengaluru Cong corporator inspired Violence etc – But each and every time  the Voter of Karnataka has rejected the lies and violence and supported B JPs and Prime Minister Modis message of Governance and Development for all – Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas. More particularly in current context, the Farmers of Karnataka have voted their faith and trust in Prime Minister Modis policies of welfare and rejected this campaign of falsehood and hypocrisy against Farm bills.

The message is clearer and clearer – All people of India trust Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP to look after their welfare and to move India into an era of development and progress for all – a New India, a globally competitive AtmaNirbharBharat.
