Salient points : Shri Prakash Javadekar on hate campaign by Congress

27-12-2013
Press Release

Salient points raised by BJP National Spokesperson & MP,
Shri Prakash Javadekar in the press conference in Delhi
on Friday, December 27, 2013

  • Congress must apologise to Mr. Modi for carrying out a sustained vilification and hate campaign for more than a decade on the basis of complete falsehood. The court verdict giving clean chit to Mr. Modi is a welcome verdict and nails the falsehood in the bud. Congress in collaboration with pseudo secular fidayeens continued with its "Target Modi Campaign", with the help of disgruntled officers and other elements. This campaign should stop now.
  • The court verdict has clearly said that SIT report is independent and transparent and need no further probe. The Modi Govt. had done everything possible to bring the communal flare up under control in the shortest possible time. It made preventive arrest of large number of possible trouble makers from both the communities. It deployed Army on war footing in the troubled area and brought the situation under control. It was the only riot where police fired thousands of rounds and killed 199 rioters to control the violence.
  • Congress must now explain why it singled out 2002 riots for sustained hate campaign and forgot 1969, 85, 86, 87 90, 92, 93 riots in Gujarat under Congress Chief Ministers where thousands of innocent Hindus and Muslims died ? Congress must realise that such hate campaigns do not live long and actually back fire.
  • Congress is unsettled and knows the writing on the wall and expect complete rout in the ensuing Lok Sabha Election. Therefore, it has launched yet another probe into so called alleged snoopgate. This is illegal and against the federal structure of the constitutional arrangement. This probe is ordered without proper due diligence and without seeking information from the state government.
