When our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji formed the Bharatiya Janata Party government in 2014 there was a complete policy paralysis. People of the country had resigned to their fate that nothing was possible. Indian political environment was at its lowest ebb.
However, with the formation of the Narendra Modi Government everything changed and people started trusting the government which also changed their mindset to 'Modi hai to mumkin hai ' (Everything is possible under the Narendra Modi Government).
In the past 8 years of the Bharatiya Janata Party government under the leadership and guidance of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji people's trust and faith on governance has grown considerably. The highly successful 8 years of the Narendra Modi Government has been that of complete transformation of the Indian political environment. India is on a remarkable journey of growth, development, progress and prosperity.
The Narendra Modi Government is pro responsive, pro-active and responsible which works on the appeal and demand of the people. Under the Narendra Modi Government the people of the country has shunned politics of casteism, communalism, appeasement dynasty and nepotism. Under the leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji the people of India now firmly believe in politics of transparency, growth, development and prosperity of all sections of our society.
The Narendra Modi Government believes in 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabha Prayas' and it working for welfare and wellbeing of all sections of the society, with special focus on poorest of the poor.
The Narendra Modi Government is truly represents all sections of our society. All the policies and programmes are formulated to benefit and empower all communities and sections of our society -- Dalits and backward classes, oppressed and deprived classes, women and youth, farmers and labourers.
During the Corona pandemic all political parties went into ICU and all their workers were in quarantine. It were only crores of the Bharatiya Janata Party workers who served the poor, sick and needy people across the country without caring for their own health and well-being. The BJP workers under the 'Sewa hi sangathan' initiative started by our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji distributed free rations and food packets to over 50 crore people and also 25 crore hand sanitizers across the country during the peak of the pandemic.
Before 2014 all government projects used to be conceived on papers and also implemented on papers. However under the Narendra Modi Government projects are prepared and completed within a fix timeframe without any delay, this is the kind of development and governance model which we today see under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.
Even the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank have acknowledged that under the dynamic leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji that in the last 8 years we have been able to bring 12 per cent people out of the poverty line. Today just less than 10 per cent of Indians are living below poverty line. Despite the Corona pandemic our extreme poverty level has been below 0.8 per cent. This is the real face of changing India.
Despite the Corona pandemic when the biggest of the world's economies faced slowdown and were in crisis, under the Narendra Modi Government India clocked GDP growth of 8.7 per cent. All this happens due to series of policies and programmes announced by our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji during the Corona pandemic which not only gave a boost to our economy it also provided much needed succour to crores of poor people across the country.
In the past 8 years over 22 lakh crores have directly gone into the bank accounts of crores of beneficiaries of various government schemes across the country without any commission or middlemen. All the beneficiaries of various government schemes are getting 100% amount in their accounts, this is the transparency and efficiency of the Narendra Modi Government.
Under the Narendra Modi Government India has developed and progressed in all aspects of socio-economic index. The per capita income has risen from Rs 79000 in 2014 to Rs 1.50 lakh per annum today; in 2014 there were 6.37 lakh primary school across the country, but under the Narendra Modi Government 6.53 lakh new primary schools have been constructed in the last 8 years. Similarly our foodgrains production was 255 million tonnes in 2015 which has gone up to 316 million tonnes. Our agriculture sector has grown by 23%, while our agriculture budget has also increased by 10 times under the Narendra Modi government. In the ease of doing business index India was ranked 142 in 2014 but today our ranking is 63 . All these figures and facts reflect transforming India.
Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji wants to make India $5 trillion economy . He is taking all steps to achieve this highly ambitious goal. Riding on the success of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and other successful schemes and policies of the Narendra Modi Government India will strengthen its position as economic superpower.
The massive victories of the Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur shows the faith, trust and respect the people of the country has for Modi ji and our party. It is also a stamp on programmes and policies, our good and effective governance.
Before our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji took over the charge at the Centre there were only 65-70 start-up , but today India has over 70,000 start-ups. Out of these over 100 have already become Unicorns. India today is the Start-up Capital of the world. Our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji wants to create our youth job creators and not job seekers. In Exports also we have created record by clocking $ 418 billion which is a record since our Independence.
Under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji India developed two Made In India vaccines leaving everyone across the world surprised. India also created record by carrying out the world's largest and fastest vaccination programme. Till today over 194 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country. India has helped several countries by providing them Made In India vaccines and also other necessary medical aid during the Corona pandemic. Honourable Prime Minister provided free corona vaccines to 48 countries including our neighbours under 'Vaccine Maitri' initiative.
Under the leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji our foreign policy is being hailed globally. Whenever Indians living abroad face any crisis or problems they know that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is there to save and help them, this is the level of trust they have on their Prime Minister. They know everything is possible when Modi ji there (Modi hai to mumkin hai). This has been proven during crisis in Afghanistan, Iraq, Wuhan (China) and Yemen. During the Ukraine- Russia war our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji did the unthinkable when he managed to rescue over 23,000 students from the war zone.
